Adventures in sewing. Crepe Dress.

Last year I purchased some of Jennifer Paganelli's Crazy Love fabric to make Colette's Crepe pattern.

It took me a couple of months to gather the courage to make the dress. The pattern had good instructions, and I also had help in the form of Gretchen's Crepe Sew Along instructions.

I learnt a great deal making the dress thanks to those instructions. I interlined the bodice, made french seam's where I could and even bound the bodice/skirt seam with bias binding. It really was an adventure in sewing techniques and dress construction for me.

It took me almost a week to make the dress.

I took my time, cut carefully, and enjoyed it.

The dress is comfortable, fits and feels good to wear. and it has pockets !

To my utter horror, just hours after I finished it, and wore it to visit my Dad, I leaned forward to pass him the Tim Tam's, and one of the sleeves tore. It tore through the facing and the inter lining.

So now I am trying to think of a way to fix it. I am toying with the idea of visoflex with matching fabric, just cover it straight over.
Anyone out there got any ideas on how to fix it ?
